Meet our Staff
Because of the difficulties of 2020, many people now realize that sewing and other homemaking skills have become very lost arts. But it doesn't have to stay that way. We have all been loving the chance to dig up these skills and make them part of our everyday lives once again. That’s exactly what That Sewing Place is here for! So come on over and let our judgement-free team show you how fun and rewarding these skills can truly be. Like us, everyone has to start somewhere and now is the time.
Hi, I’m Tori Spencer, a mom of 4, grandma to 5 beautiful boys and the owner of That Sewing Place. I taught kids sewing classes in my home for several years and really loved it and wanted to open a real sewing school some day. My husband and I are so happy to be Queen Creek residents and to be bringing the vital skill of sewing to the community.
My name is Joanna. I was able to learn how to sew at a very young age, six or seven. When I was in middle school I took Home Economics sewing, and I made clothes throughout high school, something new each week. I did construction sewing (making clothes) for 25 years. When I was introduced to Quilting. I jumped in 100% and haven’t looked back. I love teaching at the sewing school and interacting with all the students!
My name is Natalia. Since a young age I wanted to learn how to sew. I’ve always have a passion for colors and have tried different types of crafts. Sewing allows me to create and combine my interest/passion for hues, colors, shades, values, tints etc… which are essential when choosing fabrics and materials. I love and enjoy working with the kids at the sewing school and keep the beautiful art of sewing alive in our youth.
